It's Official: Former SNOT/AMEN Guitarist SONNY MAYO Joins SEVENDUST

February 15, 2005

SEVENDUST have officially announced the addition of former SNOT/AMEN guitatist Sonny Mayo to the group's ranks. The band will unveil the new lineup on a 20-market whirlwind tour starting April 6 in Tampa, Florida. Cities that will be covered on the trek include New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. In the meantime, SEVENDUST are continuing to craft the follow-up to 2003's "Seasons".

Mayo joins SEVENDUST as the replacement for Clint Lowery, who left the group mid-tour in December, citing "personal issues." He has since become a full-time member of DARK NEW DAY, the new "supergroup" also featuring Brett Hestla (ex-CREED, VIRGOS MERLOT) on vocals, Will Hunt (ex-SKRAPE, TOMMY LEE) on drums, Clint's brother Corey Lowery (ex-STEREOMUD, STUCK MOJO) on bass, and Troy McLawhorn (ex-DOUBLE DRIVE) on guitar.

DARK NEW DAY recently finished mixing their debut album, "Twelve Year Silence", with producer/mixer Ben Grosse, who has previously worked with FILTER, FUEL, SEVENDUST and ALTER BRIDGE. A summer release via Warner Bros. Records is expected.
